About Me
I am a recent Graduate of the MSc Games Software Development course at Sheffield Hallam in which I graduated with a Distinction with an average of 75%.
I am also a Graduate of the BSc Computer Games Programming course at the University of Huddersfield, which I graduated with a First Class degree with an average of 75% across the two graded years.
I enjoy all kinds of programming but the field that excites me the most is programming relating to gameplay, such as character control and gameplay mechanics. I find programming gameplay that requires a sense of gamefeel very interesting, where the user input has a specific output for the character. Creating and perfecting the main mechanics of a game and fine tuning the way the character controls and interacts with the world is something that I find extremely rewarding. Gameplay Programming has always been the area I have looked to work on in the projects I have been involved with and is something that I look forward to working on more throughout my career as a Game Programmer.
During my Masters Course I gained a lot of experience with C++, achieving 95% in the C++ Bootcamp module. I also gained some good experience with Unreal Engine which was used in both my Team Project module, which was a game called Bounce Back 2, and my final project, which was creating a realistic crowd simulation to eventually be used in creating and testing a crowd analysis system.
More information on Bounce Back 2 and my Crowd Simulation project can be found in My Portfolio along with the some of my earlier projects.
